Pikes Peak Online School (PPOS), an online public school, will celebrate the 203 members of the Class of 2020 during a virtual commencement ceremony on Friday, August 7.
In lieu of their traditional in-person celebration, PPOS invites family and friends worldwide to join the online celebration, with live and recorded speeches from school leadership, students and esteemed guests.
“Our students have worked incredibly hard to get to this point and their determination is inspiring,” said PPOS Head of School Nicole Tiley. “Although we cannot hold a traditional commencement ceremony, we still want to celebrate the Class of 2020 and recognize this milestone achievement.”
PPOS graduates earn their high school diploma in a personalized learning environment. The school focuses on providing struggling students statewide with the academic, social and emotional support needed to reach graduation. Members of the Class of 2020 will enroll in two- and four-year colleges and universities, enter military service, or join the full-time workforce.
PPOS students access a robust online curriculum in the core subjects and a host of electives, and attend live virtual classes taught by state-licensed teachers. PPOS also offers student clubs, field trips and social outings to foster a sense of school community.
