COL Miller joins Sarcos after serving more than 29 years of active duty in the U.S. Army. His most recent role was as Commander of the Joint Acquisition Task Force Tactical Assault Light Operator Suit (JATF TALOS). In this role, COL Miller directed an integrated product team of Senior Operators from multiple services including Army Green Berets and Rangers, Marine Raiders and Navy SEALS, highly talented design engineers and technical subject matter experts. The JATF’s principle task was to identify and leverage emerging technologies and capabilities to achieve a vision for the next generation combat operator exoskeleton suit, TALOS.
COL Miller’s previous assignments also included Chief of Staff of Special Operations Command Europe in Stuttgart, Germany, and Director of Operations at Special Operations Command South in Miami, FL, among other roles.
As Vice President, Defense Solutions at Sarcos, COL Miller will be tasked with advancing the company’s military strategy, developing relationships within the sector and ensuring that Sarcos’ products meet the needs and requirements of the U.S. Armed Forces.
“We are fortunate to have Colonel Miller join our executive team, particularly given his experience with the TALOS project and his knowledge of the overall exoskeleton landscape,” said Ben Wolff, chairman and CEO of Sarcos. “COL Miller’s expertise in this key market for Sarcos will ensure we are providing the best technologies and capabilities as we deploy our full-body, powered exoskeleton, the Guardian™ XO®, for logistics applications in the public and private sectors.”
COL Miller served the majority of his career in various Command and Operations positions throughout Europe, Northern Africa, Southeast Asia, Central/South America and the Caribbean. In these roles, he often worked closely with international Special Operations Forces, Police, Non-Governmental Organizations, the local populace, U.S. Embassy leadership and Interagency personnel. COL Miller graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and obtained his Master’s degree from the U.S. Army War College.
“In my role as Commander of the TALOS Task Force, I had the opportunity to work with many different parties on the development of military-specific exoskeletons,” said COL Miller. “I believe that Sarcos’ full-body, powered exoskeleton is uniquely positioned to benefit both the U.S. military and industry. I look forward to helping the company expand its relationships within the military community, as well as continue to develop products that will play a meaningful role in the force of the future.”
