SentryOne today announces the general availability of SentryOne Portal, a new user experience for managing performance using SQL Sentry database performance monitoring software. SentryOne Portal provides convenient, web access to Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database monitoring data, so DBAs, developers and IT managers can see the current status of mission-critical on-premises or cloud data workloads without an installed client.

“Companies are under pressure to have immediate, accurate information about the state of their database systems,” said Greg Gonzalez, SentryOne founder and Chief Scientist. “SentryOne Portal gives Microsoft data professionals convenient access to their database monitoring information, and a fresh, new in-browser experience that makes it easier than ever to find the root cause of performance problems.”

With SentryOne Portal, data managers can see detailed, actionable information about the performance of SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, and Windows, including:

  • Overall database environment health
  • Real-time and historical database performance metrics, including SQL Server statistics and Windows OS metrics such as network and CPU usage
  • High-impact SQL queries that degrade database performance

“With the state-of-the-art and easy-to-use SentryOne Portal, our data team can quickly identify database health status and pinpoint exact alerts within the estate,” says Chris Yates, VP and Director of Data and Architecture at Republic Bank in Louisville, Ky. “Plus, this gives us the ability to create additional dashboards as needed. With the release of the new portal, SentryOne continues to raise the bar so our data team can perform at a high level.”

In addition to releasing the SentryOne Portal, SentryOne now offers three editions of SentryOne Document, a cloud solution for automatically capturing data estate typology, documenting data sources and analyzing data lineage. The three editions—Essentials, Standard, and Premium—will help small, mid-market, and enterprise companies right-size DataOps solutions for their environments.

“SentryOne Document is the foundation of our DataOps solution set. It helps every organization automate the capture and tracking of their Data Estate Topology, no matter how volatile,” said SentryOne Chief Strategy Officer Douglas McDowell. “Without a DataOps process that uses SentryOne Document to maintain an accurate, reliable map of data assets, it is impossible to plan and execute successful strategic data projects—from cloud migrations to data compliance governance.”
