Steve Kuhn, a founding member of Sevan Multi-Site Solutions and Executive Vice President, was presented with the 2019 Engineering Technology Award of Distinction of the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences from the University of Cincinnati.

The awards ceremony took place at the University of Cincinnati on Thursday night.

“I am extremely honored to be the recipient of this award,” Kuhn says with enthusiasm. “From a professional standpoint, it is my goal to use this platform as an opportunity to continue to raise awareness about the importance of cooperative education. Co-Op provides students and businesses with the chance to grow and learn together. At Sevan especially, we welcome our Co-Op team members and provide real work experience working side-by-side with seasoned professionals,” he says.

Along with the Executive Vice President role, Kuhn is also currently a member of Sevan’s Board of Directors. In his roles, he focuses on advancing Sevan’s Business Partner relationships. He also works to support the Co-Op student and University recruiting efforts and is assuming leadership of the Sevan Charitable Foundation. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management.

Kuhn’s family—including his wife, three sons and two daughters in law – joined him for the awards ceremony. Sevan team members also celebrated Steve’s accomplishment by cheering him on. Sevan attendees included President and CEO Jim Evans, Chief Operations Officer Tom Glatz, Vice President of People Solutions Chris Galazka, Senior Vice President of Operations Roy Blessing, Senior People Relations Coordinator Morgan Ehemann, Project Executive Randy Barnhill, Project Engineer Cris Groh, and current Co-Op students Chandler Berlinger and Greta Antonetz.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to the University of Cincinnati (UC), The College of Engineering & Applied Science and the Alumni Association for the honor of this award and for being so intentional about recognizing the tremendous fields of study offered by the College of Applied Science over the years,” Kuhn says. “The UC Co-Op Program, this year celebrating 100 years, is truly one of a kind. We have searched the country and there is no other University that comes close to the UC Co-Op program in either approach or results. I am proud to be a Bearcat.”

The Engineering Technology Award of Distinction recognizes an individual who has not only made significant contributions in their professional field but also has a proven personal commitment to the mission and vision of the programs in what was formerly the College of Applied Science
