WHO: Yaron Kassner is CTO and Co-Founder of Silverfort. He is a recognized expert in cybersecurity and big data. Prior to founding Silverfort, Yaron served as a big data consultant for Cisco, and also worked on big data analytics and machine learning algorithm projects at Microsoft. Yaron served at the 8200 elite cyber unit of the Israel Defense Forces and holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.
WHAT: Lateral Movement techniques are used by cyber adversaries and ransomware to progressively move throughout the environment in search of valuable assets and data. This session will explain why these attacks are identity-based at their core, and how they exploit compromised legitimate identities, privileged accounts and non-human service accounts. Yaron will discuss several lateral attack techniques to demonstrate how difficult they can be to detect and block. He will also present methods for defeating these attacks, including patternless detection and unified risk analysis of authentication and access across on-premises and multi-cloud environments.
