Simplify Healthcare, a leading Healthcare technology solutions provider, organized its first 31-Day Step Challenge – ‘Step-up for a Cause’ event as a fundraising activity. The walkathon was a successful event held in its US office in which a total of 28 people participated with 5 teams and 8 individuals.

The team collectively walked an incredible 5.6 million steps in 4 weeks (around 2,687 miles), which is nearly walking around the US from the East Coast to West Coast! The winners managed to raise $15,290 and were given an opportunity to support the social initiatives they believe in. In association with Maker’s Merci, the funds were donated to the following charities:

  • Doctors without Borders is an independent international medical relief organization providing medical care where it is needed most in nearly 70 countries. $1,618.25 was donated to the non-profit organization.
  • UNICEF fund for Rohingya Refugee children is an effort by UNICEF to provide sufficient education facility or learning centers, life and vocational skills, prevent disease outbreaks, malnutrition, providing clean water to refugee children. $1,618.25 was donated to the non-profit organization.
  • Feeding America is a leading non-profit organization with a mission to feed America’s hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage in the fight to end hunger. $6,027 was donated to the social initiative.
  • Save Uighur is an educational and advocacy project aimed at raising public awareness and resolve to help the Uighur people from the oppression they face at the hands of the Chinese government. $6,027 was donated to the social initiative.

At Simplify Healthcare, we believe small acts make a big difference. And walking for a cause not only kept our employees motivated and feeling good all day long, but also helped us donate for the good of the society.

“I am delighted our ‘31-Day Step Challenge – Step-up for a Cause’ initiative not only helped our employees improve productivity and become active during the work-from-home period, but also supported causes our employees care about. Our association with Maker’s Merci helped us serve others while getting fit and enjoying a spirited competition.”
