Talkspace (www.Talkspace.com), the global leader in telebehavioral health, announced today the hiring of Mark Hirschhorn as President, CFO and COO, as well as Andrew Moers as CMO.

Hirschhorn joins Talkspace off the heels of the sale of ArisGlobal to Nordic Capital, which he spearheaded as CFO. Prior to joining ArisGlobal in 2019, Hirschhorn served as COO and CFO of Teladoc, Inc. (NYSE: TDOC), the nation’s leading provider of telehealth services. He joined Teladoc in 2012 and grew the company from $10M in revenue with 45 employees to $500M in revenue and 2,500 employees when he left at the end of 2018. While at Teladoc, Hirschhorn was responsible for its M&A strategy, including the acquisition of BetterHelp, which he developed into one of the largest online portals for direct-to-consumer behavioral health. Hirschhorn’s responsibilities at Talkspace will include overseeing its fast-growing enterprise business, as well as financial and M&A strategy.

“I have been fortunate enough to develop leadership expertise in growing the financial and operational infrastructure of companies and am excited to bring my professional experience to a company that deeply resonates with me,” says Hirschhorn. “I am incredibly inspired by Talkspace’s mission and am thrilled to now be a part of its acceleration into this next phase of growth and influence.”

Hirschhorn’s new role closely follows Andrew Moers’ appointment as Chief Marketing Officer, which became effective late 2019. Moers brings over 20 years of experience to Talkspace, having served in general management and leadership roles for a broad range of digital businesses. Moers joined the company following his position as Vice President of Growth at Blue Apron where he redeveloped Blue Apron’s marketing strategy, improving payback by 80 percent, thereby enabling the company to achieve profitability during the first half of 2019. Previously, Moers served as President of a several-hundred million dollar business unit within the search and media division of IAC (NASDAQ: IAC), having built the business from the ground up from 2008 to 2016, and was part of the leadership team at Ask.com that orchestrated the company’s turnaround and subsequent sale to IAC for $1.85B.

“I’m incredibly passionate about Talkspace’s mission to improve mental wellbeing throughout our society,” says Moers, “and I look forward to bringing my experience in scaling businesses to Talkspace to help unlock its next phase of growth and to further consumer awareness of both Talkspace and this great societal imperative.”

“As Talkspace continues to develop the first global technology platform dedicated to dramatically improving both access and quality of behavioral health, it is time for us to add best-in-class leaders with extensive experience in large-scale operations and public markets in both our B2C and B2B go-to-markets,” says Oren Frank, Co-Founder and CEO of Talkspace. “We are thrilled to have Mark and Andrew join our growing team.”

Talkspace’s mobile therapy app has served over 1.5 million people and continues to expand. With Talkspace’s HIPAA compliant platform, consumers can have meaningful conversations with a licensed therapist from any device.

Talkspace’s commercial business now covers more than six million lives. This offering joins existing partnerships via commercial relationships with Aetna – a CVS Health company, New Directions Behavioral Health, and Magellan Health, amongst others.

Talkspace most recently completed its Series D round in 2019. To date, the company has raised a total of $110 million.
