Tend, a next-generation personal finance platform committed to making access to financial well-being better for everyone, has officially launched in the U.S. and Mexico. The membership model combines financial technology with social interaction to make accessing, moving and growing people’s money easier, faster and more human.

Tend takes on a range of challenges faced by many who have disadvantaged access to financial resources and education. With its coordinated launch in the U.S. and Mexico, the banking app will provide a unified ecosystem for people to save, spend and financially connect across borders without friction. The all-in-one platform enables members to handle their money matters, whether transactional or conversational, in one place.

“By making banking a collective effort, we ultimately believe the path to happier, healthier financial lives begins with bringing individual voices together and empowering them to chart their own course with the support of a community,” said James Dunavant, CEO, Tend. “Through membership, Tend’s goal is to eliminate the stress and complexity of managing money across many disparate financial services products, and increase financial literacy through real human conversation.”

Tend’s features and benefits include:

  • Debit Rewards and Benefits: The Tend app includes a Visa debit card, checking and savings accounts, shopping cashback and deep discounts at thousands of retail outlets, and the ability to book global travel at best prices with cashback rewards.
  • The Green: The Green is where Tend members come together to connect, learn money matters and collaborate. Over time, members will have the opportunity to co-create the product and features by suggesting or upvoting on upcoming aspects and benefits of the app.
  • Tend Shares: The revenue share program that pays members cash bonuses and recurring monthly streams, providing increasing yields to those who contribute to the growth and well-being of the community.
  • Real-Time International Remittance (Coming Soon): The commitment to serving the Mexican-American community will include frictionless real-time, peer-to-peer, cross-border money transfers and payments with enhanced messaging capabilities at best prices.

“Banking is a different experience for everyone,” says Nathan Biles, Chief Technology Officer, Tend. “We sought to create a platform where everyone can feel comfortable about banking, no matter if they are a first timer or veteran. The technology in the app is intended to provide an easy and human experience, something many banking apps don’t offer. We are excited to not only launch an app, but a community where people can become financially better together.”

Members can try the Tend app for free during a trial period. Subscription costs $9.95 per month. Banking services are provided by nbkc bank, Member FDIC in the U.S. The app is available for iOS and Android mobile devices in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
