TESSCO Technologies Incorporated (NASDAQ: TESS), a leading value-added distributor and solutions provider for the wireless industry, today announced that it has been added to the Russell 3000® Index and the Russell 2000® Index, effective after the U.S. market opens on July 1, as part of the 2019 Russell indexes reconstitution.
“Inclusion in the Russell 3000 and Russell 2000 indexes reflects our recent success in positioning Tessco to capitalize on exciting wireless market trends,” said Murray Wright, President and Chief Executive Officer. “Being a member of these indexes brings increased visibility among the investment community and other key stakeholders, and we look forward to telling our story to a broader audience.”
Annual reconstitution of the Russell 3000 Index captures the 3,000 largest U.S. stocks as of May 10, 2019, ranking them by total market capitalization. For Tessco, membership in the broad-market Russell 3000 Index, which remains in place for one year, means automatic inclusion in the U.S. small-cap Russell 2000 Index, as well as the appropriate growth and value style indexes. FTSE Russell determines membership for its Russell indexes primarily by objective, market-capitalization rankings and style attributes. Tessco also remains a member of the Russell Microcap® Index.
Russell indexes are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for active investment strategies. Approximately $9 trillion in assets are benchmarked against Russell’s US indexes. Russell indexes are part of FTSE Russell, a leading global index provider.
