Inc. magazine revealed that TimelyMD, the leading virtual health and well-being solution for college and university students, is the seventh-fastest growing private company in the Southwest and first among those in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

TimelyMD debuted at No. 7 on this year’s Inc. 5000 Regionals 2022 Southwest list – the nation’s most prestigious ranking of businesses with exceptional growth in Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas – based on a two-year revenue growth rate of 1,474%.

This was the first year of eligibility for the Fort Worth-based company, which was founded in 2017 as the first telehealth company exclusively focused on higher education. Today, TimelyMD serves nearly one million college students across the country by providing complete clinical care, best-in-class technology, and expert guidance to improve their physical and mental health. Its TimelyCare platform is a 24/7 virtual extension of campus health and counseling center resources, with a goal of improving student well-being, engagement and retention.

“TimelyMD’s mission to improve the health and well-being of college students through virtual medical and mental health care has never been more important, and we are grateful for Inc. magazine’s validation of our role as a leader in higher education, healthcare and society,” said Luke Hejl, CEO and co-founder of TimelyMD. “This incredible recognition would not be possible without our passionate, innovative and collaborative team, or the college and university leaders who trust us to help students be well and thrive.”

While the COVID-19 pandemic fueled TimelyMD’s exceptional growth, demand for virtual care remains high among college students and administrators. Nine out of 10 students say campuses face a full-blown mental health crisis, and 75% of college presidents said they plan to make greater investments in student mental health. Currently TimelyMD partners with nearly 200 campuses across the country, including Duke University, Emory University, Georgetown University, University of Notre Dame, University of Virginia, Wake Forest University and Washington University in St. Louis. It also serves more than half a million community college students, with system agreements in California, Connecticut and Virginia.

“This year’s Inc. 5000 Regional winners represent one of the most exceptional and exciting lists of America’s off-the-charts growth companies. They’re disruptors and job creators, and all delivered an outsize impact on the economy. Remember their names and follow their lead. These are the companies you’ll be hearing about for years to come,” says Scott Omelianuk, editor-in-chief of Inc.

More about Inc. and the Inc. 5000 Regionals

Methodology

The 2022 Inc. 5000 Regionals are ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2018 and 2020. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2018. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2019. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2018 is $100,000; the minimum for 2020 is $1 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons.
