Turning the Tassels on COVID-19: Colorado Preparatory Academy Celebrates Class of 2020 with Online Commencement

Sponsored by Businesswire

As most brick-and-mortar schools around the country struggled to become fully integrated online this past spring due to COVID-19, Colorado Preparatory Academy (CPA), an online public school serving K-12 students across the state, is celebrating the Class of 2020 in an online-only commencement ceremony.

CPA is inviting all families and friends worldwide to join the celebration online, with live and recorded speeches from school leadership, students and esteemed guests.

“Our virtual commencement ceremony brings our students who attended their classes online full-circle as they are now graduating in the same way,” said CPA Head of School Nicole Tiley. “Although we cannot celebrate our seniors in a more traditional fashion, we still want to make sure that they have a proper send off as they start their next chapter.”

This year, CPA will graduate 105 students. 34 of CPA’s graduates participated in the Concurrent Enrollment program, and will be graduating with associate degrees or certifications. After graduation, members of the Class of 2020 will pursue higher education, join the military, or enter the workforce.

The school provides programs specifically for advanced learners. College-minded students can choose from a broad-range of courses in order to gain a competitive edge for the future and discover their path after high school. CPA also gives students the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school.

Details of the graduation ceremony are as follows:
