WaveMaker Inc., the leading low code platform for professional developers, today announced that its customer, New Jersey-based regional healthcare provider Valley Health System (VHS), is using WaveMaker’s low code platform for modernizing its legacy applications, and for the rapid delivery of web and mobile apps to its administrative staff and healthcare personnel.

With the help of WaveMaker, VHS established a highly productive, central low code platform that significantly reduced the time required to develop mobile applications and enhanced their overall user experience. In only ten weeks, VHS deployed two apps capable of bringing key data and information into the hands of staff to help improve decision management and hospital bed management.

“In healthcare, it’s critical that staff has access to essential data and information when they need it,” said Michael Laidlaw, Manager, IT Applications Support at VHS. “In the past, many of these issues would be solved with static reports, but there are many downstream issues to that. Today, providing actionable data and insights on medical staff’s mobile devices is key to properly optimizing workflows and improving patient care.”

VHS combined WaveMaker with SpotCues, a micro app mobile container to rapidly build mobile apps, and instantly pushed them to end user mobile devices. For VHS, this resulted in bypassing app store approvals and rolling out mobile apps in only a matter of weeks, as opposed to months.

WaveMaker is used to build applications that are cloud-native, secure and scalable without limits on users, and offer easy integrations with existing platforms like Meditech and Athena. In tandem with this platform, SpotCues provides a secure container eliminating any user concerns from the development process.

“As the healthcare industry grapples with unprecedented demands from this pandemic, the easy accessibility of data and apps through a unified low code platform is crucial for operating seamlessly,” said Mayur Shah, Senior Director Product Management, at WaveMaker. “We’re excited to see a recognized healthcare provider like Valley Health System use WaveMaker low-code to enable its front-line staff with a modern platform as it continues to provide exceptional care to its patients.”

“The simplicity of the WaveMaker development environment opened our organization up to a mobile world that we previously would not have thought possible,” said Michael Laidlaw. ”With WaveMaker, we’ve streamlined the mobile delivery of all necessary data for our leaders, physicians, nurses as well as many other front line staff, drastically improving patient and staff experiences. What’s more, the complete solution is highly secure, which is essential for the healthcare industry.”
