WhiteHat Security, an independent subsidiary of NTT Ltd. and a leading application security provider, today announced the appointment of Chris Leffel as the new vice president of Product Management. In his role, Leffel will lead the product management team in driving an extensive product strategy and new innovation to WhiteHat’s product portfolio, to provide a best-in-application security experience for current and future WhiteHat Security customers.

Leffel has been in the enterprise security management industry for more than 15 years. Most recently, he served as the vice president of Product Management at Digital Guardian, where he led the product integration process during the company’s acquisition of Code Green Networks and was in charge of building and improving its data loss prevention (DLP) product.

Prior to Digital Guardian, Leffel held executive product management positions at Tripwire, Code Green Networks and Symantec. Highlights from Leffel’s career include successfully bringing the Code Green Networks product to profitability, eventually leading to its acquisition by Digital Guardian, and launching a brand-new product at Tripwire. He began his career as a software engineer at Keane, Inc. (acquired by NTT), followed by Icon Infosystems, before transitioning to product management at iAnywhere.

“Chris Leffel’s expertise in navigating the integration of products post acquisition and successfully bringing new products to profitability will prove invaluable to WhiteHat Security as we continue to grow alongside our parent company NTT Ltd.,” said Anthony Bettini, CTO, WhiteHat Security. “He has a strong vision and ability to drive a culture of unity within product development teams. We are pleased to welcome Leffel to the team and look forward to seeing what he produces at WhiteHat Security.”

“Application security is one of the fastest growing sectors in the security market, driven by applications firmly holding their place as top attack vectors for cybercriminals,” said Leffel. “I look forward to working with WhiteHat Security, which has long been considered one of the most renowned names in the application security industry–and to participating in the overall market growth in the coming years.”
