Windstream, a leading provider of advanced network communications and
technology solutions, is recognizing June as Internet Safety Month by
partnering with local law enforcement and community organizations to
host a series of educational initiatives to remind the public about the
importance of being safe while online.

“The Internet is like our homes. It’s a place where we spend a lot of
time that enhances our lives. It’s where we find entertainment, shop and
buy online, and visit with others, but it’s also a space we want to keep
safe and secure, too,” said Tony Spurlin, chief information security
officer at Windstream. “We use door locks, alarm systems and situational
awareness to keep us safe at home, and we need the same sort of
protection online.”

All month long, Windstream will host retail store events and local
workshops highlighting safe Internet habits and choices. Internet Safety
events kicks off June 3 and will continue the entire month.

During this initiative, Windstream will be encouraging consumers,
business owners and IT professionals across the nation to #StayPRIVATE.
