that Dr. Homaira Akbari, president and CEO of AKnowledge Partners, has
joined its board of directors as chairman to help the company drive
further growth as it expands into new sectors and empowers business
leaders with automation and intelligence.

Dr. Akbari is currently the president and CEO of AKnowledge Partners,
providing strategic advisory services to leading private equity funds
and large corporations in IoT, mobility, supply chain visibility and
cyber security sectors. Dr. Akbari has a successful track record of
managing medium to large technology companies, including serving as CEO
of SkyBitz, where she provided an exit with strong returns for all of
the company’s stake holders, and prior to SkyBitz, working with
operations and sales organizations of more than 12 thousand employees
within divisions of public companies with revenues in excess of $5
billion. Additionally, Dr. Akbari has extensive private and public
company board governance and oversight experience. She currently serves
on a number of private and public company board of directors including
Banco Santander, S.A. and Landstar System, Inc.
Dr. Akbari holds a Ph.D. with honors in particle physics from Tufts
University and an MBA with distinction from Carnegie Mellon University,
where she is currently a member of The Tepper School of Business Board
of Advisors. In addition, Dr. Akbari was the inaugural chair of the
Johns Hopkins University Physics and Astronomy Advisory Council from
2013-2018. She is the author of more than 50 scientific and management
articles in international journals, holds two patents in IoT/M2M and is
a frequent speaker at industry conferences.
