overview of the world of business performance management. The survey
results come directly from each vendor’s “users” or customer base. A

XLerant, the only vendor to receive perfect (5 of 5) scores in the
survey, was honored with three perfect scores for Overall Satisfaction,
Customer Support, and Ease of Use. This is the fourth year in a row that
BudgetPak received the highest scores for Ease of Use in the BPM Pulse
Survey; the solution was also top-ranked in Financial Self Sufficiency
and Ease of Integration.
In addition to evaluating software performance, the survey assesses new
and evolving industry trends and customer priorities for BPM software
solutions. The majority of the 360 respondents to the 2019 BPM Pulse
Survey (62%) represented mid-sized or mid-market businesses – and
budgeting and forecasting was the most-sought BPM solution. Ease of use
continues to top the list of features finance teams want in budgeting
and forecasting software — and the majority of survey respondents (68%)
are looking outside of their ERP for a best of breed solution. Features
supporting collaboration (such as shared documentation or the ability to
capture notes or commentary) as well as a guided workflow were also
ranked high as finance teams seek to engage department heads in the
budgeting process.
