Magirus brings VSPEX to EMEA channel

Magirus has become what it claims is the first distributor to bring EMC’s VSPEX into the EMEA channel.

VSPEX uses an open and flexible framework of storage, data, and networking technology and is available in various configurations through Magirus, including Cisco and Brocade compute and networking, VMware virtualisation, and EMC VNX and VNX unified storage. These, Magirus claims, will help business resellers boost their private cloud deployments for customers.

Magirus promises to support resellers in integrating the VSPEX components in pre-existing data centre environments where different infrastructure from other vendors is already in place.

The distie has trained up its sales and technical consultants through VSPEX and is offering them up to support customers with market development, sales, and deployment. There are two programmes Magirus has put together. They are ‘partnering for profit’, which focuses on marketing support and revenue, using a Magirus staff mentor to help resellers work out strategic plans and with ongoing support to drum up data centre and cloud computing business.

The other is ‘ready to fly’ which is for EMC newbies who wish to get to EMC Velocity Affiliate status – including sales and technical training. Magirus says it will support some business resellers to become certified, within six months, if the demand and experience is there.

Philippe Fosse, veep at EMEA channels, EMC, pointed out that virtual infrastucture and private cloud computing are healthy and fast growing markets that are transforming the IT and business landscape at the moment. “It is important that channel resellers have the right tools to address this demand,” Fosse said.

Magirus exec veep, and COO, said: “When you buy a car, you expect to drive it off the forecourt immediately. We are doing exactly the same with VSPEX by simplifying the migration to cloud and helping business resellers reap the benefits for their customers straight away”.
