Advancing Women in Product (AWIP), the organization aiming to bridge the diversity gap for technology leaders by empowering high-potential female product and tech leaders through equality of opportunity, today announced that Nancy Wang, Co-founder and CEO at AWIP and Head of Product Management at Amazon Web Services (AWS) will speak at the 2019 Grace Hopper Celebration in Orlando, Florida this October 1 – 4. She will be joined by Helen Fan, Expansion Lead for AWIP and Senior Product Manager at Oracle.

“Like the founding story of AWIP, Grace Hopper and the Anita Borg Institute, celebrates the importance of diversity in tech with a strong commitment to supporting and empowering women technologists in reaching for that next title or professional level,” said Nancy Wang, CEO and co-founder of AWIP. “This gathering of tech leaders from all over the world is committed to giving attendees access to opportunities to connect, be inspired and lead as a woman in the industry.”

As the world’s largest conference for women in technology, the annual Grace Hopper Celebration brings together technology leaders to listen to keynote speakers, attend panel sessions, network and access resources in an effort to help attendees advance in their careers. At the conference, Nancy Wang will participate on a panel with influential product leaders in the industry, including AWS, GitHub, Heroku, Facebook and Oracle.

Helen Fan from AWIP created the panel, “Building Product that Developers Love,” which will discuss the rising influence of developers in business strategy and the critical need to build products that developers love to improve their product development process.

“This panel was inspired as a result of the scarce amount of resources online for building developer products. GHC is a great place to start the conversation because of its reach and influence,” said Helen Fan, Expansion Lead for AWIP. “Compared to other disciplines of product management, there are even fewer women product managers in this field, and I joined AWIP to change this reality.”
