Dave announced today that it is donating $50K to Feeding America to ensure food banks in the communities affected by recent winter storms in the southern United States have access to the food they need. Feeding America is the nation’s largest organization dedicated to fighting domestic hunger through a nationwide network of 200 food banks.
Feeding America is working with national donors to transport food and supplies to the most heavily impacted locations, with a focus on supporting communities in Texas and surrounding areas that dealt with the most significant power outages and water shortages.
In addition to resources like Feeding America, Dave members used the app to help overcome food shortages during the widespread inclement weather. “Dave came in really handy during the storm,” said Arrielle Shorter, a Dave customer based in Dallas. “I was able to use Dave to get water, food and supplies when I was running low on money.”
