Today Censinet, the leading collaborative risk network for healthcare organizations, and MassChallenge HealthTech, a digital health program based in Boston, Massachusetts that enables collaborative partnerships between startups, industry partners, and governments, announced a partnership to help health systems and their vendors quickly and effectively deliver risk assessments and meet HIPAA security and other regulatory standards.

Both organizations participate in Together.Health, a collaborative of healthcare accelerators, incubators, innovation programs, governments, and associations focused on catalyzing digital health innovation. Censinet and MassChallenge HealthTech are both on the project steering committee for the Together.Health Security Assessment, a nationwide and open risk assessment framework.

“Censinet and Together.Health believe that by arming third-parties with the right tools, best practices and education, we can significantly reduce risks to patient data, care and safety,” said Ed Gaudet, CEO and founder of Censinet. “We’re excited about the partnership and continuing to advance our mutual mission of creating a secure and productive healthcare ecosystem.”

Censinet and MassChallenge HealthTech will collaborate with Together.Health and its community of digital health ecosystem leaders to curate the Together.Health Security Assessment (THSA), support the standard assessment in the Censinet platform, and enable digital healthcare vendors to manage their assessments with Censinet at no cost. The two organizations will also provide digital healthcare vendors with an educational program that includes best practices, policies, procedures and controls for managing risk, starting with MassChallenge HealthTech’s current cohort of digital health startups.

“The goal of Together.Health is to bring organizations together to work collaboratively to share best practices and leverage existing resources to drive digital health innovation,” said Nick Dougherty, Managing Director of MassChallenge HealthTech. “We need to mitigate risk and protect patient data. Censinet has been an early collaborator to this project and we’re looking forward to streamlining the risk assessment process for digital health startups and established vendors together.”
