Esri,
the global leader in location intelligence, today announced that its St.
Louis office intends to triple its current professional services staff
to support a growing user base. The expanded office will serve as a
central hub for Esri to support users in the St. Louis area and across
the US.

The decision to create expanded capabilities in St. Louis emerged from
the area’s recent growth and transformation into a strong center of
professional excellence and innovation in the GIS sector. While the Esri
team already includes a mix of leading geospatial technologists across
many disciplines, growth in demand for consultation, geospatial
strategy, and implementation support across the GIS user base has made
it necessary to increase staff to serve those needs. The central US
location also makes it easier for Esri to support customers across the
country.

“When we looked at the best location to support our rapidly expanding
user community, St. Louis was the obvious choice,” said Brian Cross,
director of Esri Professional Services. “We are happy to serve the
vibrant geospatial community in this area and continue our mission to
drive impact by supporting our users throughout the region and the US.”

The new staff will join a thriving team of leading geospatial
professionals, located in two offices in the St. Louis metropolitan
area. The team is part of the Esri Professional Services group of over
700 experts working across the US. In particular, these new hires will
address the growing needs of local government, commercial, agriculture,
utilities, and defense and intelligence. They will support Esri’s entire
customer base, including one of the company’s biggest federal customers,
the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), whose future campus
will be only a five-minute drive from the Esri office.

“We are excited to significantly grow our team in St. Louis,” said
Matthew Harman, head of the Esri Professional Services team in the
Midwest, based in St. Louis. “The area is a global center for geospatial
technology, and by combining new staff with the incredible professionals
who already work on the team, we will be able to support our users at an
entirely new scale.”

Esri intends to partner closely with local universities to create
opportunities to help students access the latest technology and
cutting-edge applications, and to create employment opportunities with
the market leader in GIS software and services.
