MetroNet began construction of its fiber infrastructure soon after announcing its partnership with Fayetteville to provide a 100 percent fiber optic network service to residents and businesses. Construction began in mid-February and marked the start of the company’s two-year, $70 million investment in the community.

Construction began in Fayetteville and will be followed shortly by the towns of Hope Mills, Linden, Wade, Stedman, Godwin, Eastover, Falcon, Spring Lake, Vander and much of unincorporated Cumberland County, as well as portions of Hoke County, such as the communities of Raeford and Rockfish.
Residents will receive communication by mail about the construction activity in their neighborhood 30 days prior to the start. MetroNet also provides additional messaging, such as yard signs, to let residents know when the temporary construction process is beginning in their neighborhood. As construction continues throughout the Fayetteville area, customers may sign up for presale which will place them on the top of the list when installations are available in their area. MetroNet will have a storefront located in Fayetteville that will serve as the command center for customer service and sales. Customers will be able to visit the store to speak with customer service representatives and sign up for services.
