Dell expands cloud services for UK partners

Dell has announced the full launch of its cloud services programme through  its UK and Ireland partners.

Following a pilot run in the region since June, Dell is now making its managed cloud services available through all of its partners as part of its PartnerDirect channel programme.   This means that partners will be able to resell public, private and hybrid cloud computing capacity, with access to Dell’s datacentres and cloud staff.

The introduction of cloud services in the UK and Ireland will also coincide with the extension of the channel certification programme, Dell said. This will mean the ability to specialise in three areas – Cloud Builder, Cloud Provider, and now the newly launched Cloud Services Enabler specialism.

Certification as Cloud Services Enabler shows that a reseller is equipped to provide and operate managed cloud services based on Dell technology.  Cloud services will be supported by VMware vCloud software.

“Our cloud certification brings Dell’s offerings together, in one easy package for partners. The intention is to make the journey to the cloud as easy as possible and give partners a flexible, scalable solution that meet customers’ needs,” said Declan Murphy, vice president, Dell Services EMEA.

“We have already seen significant interest from our partners in leveraging Dell’s vCloud platform for customers,” Murphy said, adding that partners are a “critical part” of delivering cloud services to customers.
