Azzurri’s Icon and NMAP products win 10-site networking, services and support contract

Azzurri Communications has been awarded a five-year contract by Cintas Document Management UK to supply a wide area network (WAN) and managed security services.

The deal is worth £1.1 million, covering Cintas’s 10 UK sites, and Azzurri will supply its Icon (Intelligent Cloud Optimised Network) is the backbone of the network, augmented by a secure online management portal for use by the Cintas IT team. Staff will be given a personalised real-time view of the network status, health, performance, and reporting through the vendor’s NMAP (Network Monitoring and Application Performance) dashboard.

Well documented

Cintas specialises in providing integrated storage and archiving, shredding, scanning, and digitisation systems for document management. Azzurri’s Icon platform was chosen after a competitive tender process to find a system that would provide security, compliance, and business continuity.

Jon Joyce, Cintas UK’s  managing director, said, “We wanted to partner with a service provider able to offer us a highly resilient network service, whilst still giving us maximum choice in terms of technologies available in the market today. We’re confident that this partnership with Azzurri, with their independent positioning, will mean we receive the best possible service and flexibility.”

As part of the contract, the supplier will provide a number of managed security services, including the management of a firewall and web content. ISO27001 accreditation means that Azzurri will also provide network security penetration testing.

Vim Vithaldas, CEO of Azzurri, said, “Our Icon platform is a key differentiator for Azzurri and is continuing to attract new customers. And what’s really exciting is the new cloud-based services we’re bringing to market that plug into Icon, such as NMAP, which allows both Azzurri and our customers to monitor SLAs according to business outcomes, not just technical aspects.”

Since 2003, Azzurri has held a Royal Warrant from the Queen as a direct supplier of mobile telephony and associated connectivity to the Royal Household .
