Cloud provider gets green light to flog UC and collaboration to SMBs through HP resellers

Cloud firm Outsourcery has signed a deal to allow HP’s channel partners to sell Outsourcery-branded unified communications and collaboration products to SMBs.

Outsourcery’s cloud is based on HP Converged Cloud infrastructure and will allow organisations with 200-1,000 employees to improve communications, increase cost-efficiency, and drive revenues.

Unified communication and collaboration services available via the cloud will include Microsoft Lync for voice over IP (VoIP), video, web and audio conferencing and chat, and Microsoft Exchange for email and document management. Dependent on size and complexity of the installation, these will be deployed on a multi-tenanted platform or in a dedicated environment in Outsourcery’s secure data centres.

Selected channel partners will provide implementation and support for the unified communications and collaboration (UC&C) system. The partners include: Microsoft Gold Partner Damovo, business comms consultancy IP Solutions, MSP Neptune Consultancy Services, and telephony and comms specialist Freedom Communications.

“UC&C enables businesses to work in smarter, more effective ways, but SMBs may not have the expertise or budget to implement it,” said HP UK and Ireland director of cloud computing Michael Clifford.

“Leveraging Outsourcery’s cloud hosting platform and the implementation expertise of specialised channel partners enables SMBs to cost-effectively deploy unified communications on a pay-per-use basis,” he said.

Outsourcery co-chief executive Piers Linney said, “Working with HP and channel partners that are embracing the opportunity, this new initiative will give SMBs the same access to UC and collaboration as larger enterprises. More companies are looking to transform the way that IT serves their business.

“Through our cloud solutions, we can provide their IT delivered as a service, with fast deployment and minimal need for capital investment,” he added.
